RIDE is an organization born from a mother’s frustration while going through the process of obtaining a diagnosis and fighting for proper services to meet her son Sammy's needs. A graduate from UCLA with a Bachelor's Degree in International Economics and an MBA from Loyola Marymount University, RIDE Co-Founder Susie Garcia considered herself well equipped to handle the task at hand. She never imagined how difficult it would be to obtain help for her then 2-year-old son on the Autism spectrum. Through this challenging process, Susie found that the resources her son needed (and entities she had to speak with in order to obtain those resources) were shockingly disconnected and even contradictory.
The need for a centralized hub to help parents and care providers of children with developmental disabilities and/or learning differences access critical resources became abundantly clear to Susie and her Co-Founder Dr. Güez Salinas, who encouraged Susie to document her journey and create a business that would help other parents facing similar challenges. Thus, RIDE was created to provide easy access to information for parents navigating the often arduous and frustrating 'RIDE' of obtaining services and advocating for their children.
